In response to the film 365 Days...

*Duffy* has penned an open letter to Netflix, urging them to show "more responsibility" with regards to hit film 365 Days.

The film depicts a violent kidnap, which then leads to sex trafficking, with Michele Morrone in the lead role.

The Welsh singer recently *opened up about her own experiences of kidnap, and sexual abuse*, and in a new message urges the broadcaster to think about its actions.

Duffy says she believes the film treats "the serious crime of kidnapping and sex trafficking" as "erotic entertainment."

The fan culture surrounding the hit has seen many on social media demanding Michelle Morrone kidnap them, with Duffy explaining:

"I encourage the millions who have enjoyed the movie to reflect on the reality of kidnapping and trafficking, of force and sexual exploitation, and of an experience that is the polar opposite of the glossy fantasy depicted.”

Writing the *open letter to Netflix chief Reed Hastings*, Duffy closes by saying: "When we know better, let us do better."
