Belfast's Enola Gay Share New Post-Punk Ripper 'Sofa Surfing'

It rails against dysfunctional government...

Belfast newcomers *Enola Gay* return with new single 'Sofa Surfing'.

The new single is the band's second ever release, and follows their potent demo version of anti-racism rant 'The Birth Of A Nation'.

New single 'Sofa Surfing' is a scorched piece of post-punk, with its careering, off kilter bass line set against surging, anthemic vocals.

Railing against dysfunctional government, it looks at the way failures in authority bleed down to those on the ground.

Produced by Chris Ryan - known for his work with Just Mustard - it's an intense offering, reminiscent of early IDLES in places.

Enola Gay comment: “It's surreal to be releasing the first song we ever wrote, so long after it was written. Especially after the last 14 months. The lyrics are reminiscent of a different time while the bassline sounds melancholic yet cautiously hopeful, a vibe which is as relevant as ever at the minute.”

The lyric video is online now, with the group adding: “If our government acted sooner we wouldn’t be in this mess, the ‘our’ implies they hardly represent us when they don’t know what’s best for us.”
