Tamannaah Bhatia and Sanjay Dutt have been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell for allegedly promoting Indian Premier League (IPL) matches on a subsidiary app of the Mahadev online gaming and betting platform. Tamannaah, known for her roles in 'Baahubali' and 'Lust Stories 2', is set to appear before the Cyber Cell on April 29th. Sanjay Dutt, summoned earlier on April 23rd, requested a later date due to work commitments. Singer Badshah and Jacqueline Fernandez have also been summoned in connection with the case. The FairPlay app, accused of illegally streaming IPL matches in 2023, reportedly caused significant losses to Viacom 18, the cricket tournament's exclusive broadcaster. Investigations into the Mahadev App involve suspicions of illegal transactions and betting activities. Celebrities like Kapil Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, and Hina Khan were previously investigated by the Enforcement Directorate for alleged ties to the company. Actor Ranbir Kapoor was also summoned for his alleged involvement in promoting the app, reportedly involving 425 individuals from various fields.
