Immigration arrests fell to lowest level in more than a decade

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers made about 72,000 administrative arrests during the fiscal year that ended in September, down from 104,000 during fiscal 2020. Biden administration officials say the decline is because ICE is prioritizing serious criminals; arrest totals are half what they were during Trump years.
