Rape convict flees as judge reads out verdict in West Bengal

A man, convicted of rape, escaped from the Katwa court while the judge was reading out his verdict at the additional district-cum-sessions judge's court on Friday, taking advantage of a security lapse. Everyone present in the court saw the accused fleeing and by the time court staff and those attending the hearing gave him a chase, the convict had managed to melt into the crowd.
