Mukhtar handed 6th conviction in 13 months

Jailed mafia don-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari was on Thursday pronounced guilty in a Gangsters Act case by a Ghazipur district court (MP-MLA), reports Rajeev Dikshit. The quantum of punishment for the former MLA and another accused Sonu Yadav will be pronounced on Friday. This is Ansari's sixth conviction since September 2022. He was booked under the Gangsters Act in 2010 in connection with the murder of a teacher, Kapil Deo Singh, in the district in 2009, and an attempt to murder complaint lodged by one Meer Hasan.
