Vriddhachalam cops crowdsource funds, pitch in to build house for widow with 5 kids

The Cuddalore district police in Tamil Nadu, India, have built a new house for a woman and her five children who were struggling to make ends meet after her husband died in a road accident. After the woman approached the deputy superintendent of police, A Arokiaraj, for help in claiming compensation, he decided to initiate a crowd-sourcing campaign. The police pooled in money and received donations from various sources, including a contractor, a businessman, and quarry owners, to build a concrete house for the family. The police also arranged a housewarming ceremony and provided the family with household items and groceries.
