Two girls, aged five and seven, drowned in an open drain in Dhanauli, Agra district, while going to watch a wedding procession. This is not the first time the same drain has caused a deadly accident, as a four-year-old child died there last year. The girls were rescued after falling into the deep drain, but were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Local authorities are accused of negligence, as the drain had been damaged for six months without any action taken.
