Woman, 55, shot in head by cop inside UP thana dies in hospital

A woman from Aligarh, shot by a police sub-inspector (SI) during passport verification, died from her injuries. The SI is on the run, with a reward and warrant issued for his arrest. The head constable who gave the pistol to the SI has been arrested. The investigation found that the head constable was not supposed to conduct the verification. CCTV footage showed the SI cocking the pistol and firing at the woman. The victim's family is demanding the arrest and termination of the SI, as well as compensation and a job for her kin.
