Turkey urged for global cooperation on COVID-19 vaccines

(MENAFN)The Turkish foreign minister urged for global cooperation on COVID-19 vaccines, when he was present at the G20 foreign and development ministers' assembly in Italy's southern town of Matera. Mevlut Cavusoglu posted on Twitter that "We support all efforts for sustainable, inclusive & healthy global development," adding that G20 can play leading role in fight against the pandemic, and vaccines should be an area of "cooperation, not competition. He further declared that "We cannot stay indifferent to the situation in Africa," citing the lack of COVID vaccines in the continent. Our World in Data, a tracking website reported that of the three billion doses administered globally, Africa's share is meager 49 million.
