Astronomers have discovered a Milky Way lookalike 12 billion light-years from Earth - the most distant Milky Way-like galaxy ever observed - according to a study published Wednesday in the journal Nature. When scientists study light from so far away, they're seeing something that is 12 billion years old, revealing the universe as it was just 1.4 billion years after the Big Bang.
