Sensex surges 478 pts; Nifty settles near 11,400

Equity indices finished higher for the second consecutive session on Tuesday with the benchmark BSE sensex rising over 450 points led by gains in banking stocks. The 30-share BSE index closed 478 points or 1.26 per cent higher at 38,528; while, the broader NSE Nifty settled 138 points or 1.23 per cent higher at 11,385.
