One of the issues Microsoft has recently acknowledged concerns the way passwords are stored in the OS, as the company said in some cases, Outlook and other apps won’t remember your passwords. And this apparently happens on Windows 10 version 2004 after installing Windows updates, with the company explaining in an advisory that the whole thing is caused by some specific tasks running on the system. So the workaround is to just disable these tasks until a fix lands. The good news is the fix is already being tested as part of the Insider program, according to a Microsoft engineer, though for now, an ETA as to when it could go live for everybody is not yet available. “This issue occurs when some Windows 10 Task Scheduler Tasks are configured in a certain way. Until a fix is available a workaround is to disable these tasks using Task Scheduler,” Microsoft
