Apple launched the iPhone 12 with much fanfare last fall, and while the company no longer shares any data on how its devices sell these days, data from suppliers shows strong demand, at least for some specific models like the Pro and the Pro Max. Speaking during the call with analysts after the earnings report, CEO Tim Cook revealed that iPhone 12 generated a record number of upgrades, and it’s believed the switch to 5G is what has convinced so many people to get a new iPhone. “If you look at this past quarter, which has -- we started selling two of the iPhones 4 weeks into the quarter and the other two, seven weeks into the quarter. And so I would caution that this is in the early going. But in looking at the iPhone 12 family, we saw both switchers and upgraders increase on a year-over-year basis.
