SEATTLE — By early June the state plans to present local school districts across Washington with a variety of options for how schools could resume in the fall. The idea is to allow districts the summer months to plan and get ready for changes. Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal says districts will have to plan for two models:

One model on how to bring students back to school safely and a second model on what to do if a positive COVID-19 case turns up and a rapid switch into a distanced learning is needed.
