Sri Lanka: Ruling Party Posts Landslide Election Victory

Sri Lanka's President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's party is celebrating a landslide win in the country's parliamentary election.

The Sri Lanka Podujana Party (SLPP) secured a two-thirds “super majority” by winning 145 of the 225 seats in the Aug. 5 poll. It also gained five seats from its allies.
