The Biloxi Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Darren Endris passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 52.

Afte- excelling in his- position, he received a - promotion.- mason:"he became a driver in 1998, which is an engineer spot- with our department, a- well sought out position."

Endris was married and had two- children, being known as- an "average family man."

Howev in the department, he - - - - was regarded for his work ethic- which didn't slow down- one bit after he was diagnosed- - - - with cancer.

Rouse:"he always came to work, he was always - smiling, he always had a good - attitude, even through all the- health issues that he had."

His hard work didn't go - - - - unnoticed, when back in novembe- he was surprised with the - phillip mccabe 5 bugle award, - given to- the person who exemplifies- everything a public servant - should be.- rouse:"he was like 'i'm going t get my dress uniform and head o- down there',- so he did, and it was just an - awesome, awesome night, when he- received the award- it was very emotional for - everyone, no one more - deserving."

Visitation for darren endris- will be held this coming- - - - saturday from 12 to 2pm at the- rieman family funeral home in - biloxi.

Following - the visitation, a funeral - service will be held at 2pm,- followed by - a procession past fire station- 4.
