Celebrities and music stars walked the red carpet in Los Angeles on Thursday (March 14) ahead of the annual iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Pop superstar Taylor Swift sparkled in a multicoloured sequin romper while Katy Perry, posing for photos with producer Zedd, opted for a checkered monochrome look.

Other musicians making an appearance on the red carpet included Kacey Musgraves, Bebe Rexha, Halsey and John Legend.

The ceremony saw country singer Maren Morris, along with Zedd and electronic musical duo Grey, take home the the Song of the Year award for their release "The Middle".

Swift credited her fans with the success of her Reputation Stadium Tour as she won Tour of the Year.

Singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, who recently hosted the Grammys, was given the Innovator award, and later performed with her 8-year-old son Egypt on piano.

The show also featured performances by Ariana Grande, who won Artist of the Year award, Musgraves, Legend and Garth Brooks, who took home the Artist of the Decade award.

Nineties boy band The Backstreet Boys revived their hits "I Want It That Way" and "No Place".
