Breaking news this morning... police are on the scene of an officer involved shooting on vista way in red bluff... we have new information from a press release from red bluff police..

The release says officers responded to an incident at the meadow view apartments..

They say when they arrived a male suspect fired on them with a handgun..

One officer returned fire and shot the suspect..

He then lied on the floor with the gun still in his hand..

The report says after an hour and half of negotiation the suspect tried to shoot officers when they moved in to give medical aid... two officer then fired back killing the suspect..

We are still following this story and will bring you new details throughout the morning..

Work installing a new baseball field at paradise high school is moving along.

Landscapers started work early this morning installing new turf the field was previously torn apart by pg&e crews that needed to access dead trees that needed to be removed.
