Drive thru coffee shops remain open amid coronavirus outbreak

Many businesses in Chico are still open amid the coronavirus outbreak, including Dutch Bros Coffee, but they have changed their operations.

Concerned calls about what may be a lack of social distancing at some local coffee shops.

For starters, you can't use this walk up window anymore, you can only use the drive-thru&.

Dutch bros is staying busy during this time but they are taking safety precautions&.

When you buy your coffee, you can only use a card and must swipe it yourself&.

People in chico have mixed reactions when it comes to drive- thru coffee being considered essentia* don't necessarily think coffee is essential, even though i drink it every morning, i think there are other ways to get your coffee other than making a line that goes into the road&.

David aust:/agrees with coffee shops being essential (((11-26 seconds)))) i think they're essential for morale, people need that brief interaction with someone at the drive thru to be able to exchange thoughts and what they are experiencing that day and have a cup of coffee at the same time.
