COVID-19: Kerala movie theatre owners count lockdown woes amid shut businesses

Movie theatre owners across country are facing huge losses due to temporary shutdown of cinema halls in the wake of coronavirus lockdown.

A movie theatre owner in Kerala's Malappuram said, "To keep the digital technology working, we need to check them daily.

As far as expenses are concerned for machines used in cinema theaters, there is no reduction but at same time, there is no income.

We have reached such a situation we can't survive any longer." The movie theatre owner urged government to give reduction in fixed charges of electricity and entertainment tax.
