Middle Georgia school districts are making decisions on how to handle summer school.

Bibb county has 367 cases.

Houston county has 276 cases.

And baldwin county is close behind now... with 263 cases.

Some school districts will keep online and digital learning ... while others say they're prepared for in-person learning.

*nats* for many, school is out for summer earlier than normal because of the pandemic.

But some students may need to take classes during the summer.

"summer school is a small group of students it's normall 24 to 30 but we believe this year it will be at the most between 15 and 20."

Georgia military college prep school is preparing to have in-person summer school begin in june.

Principal pam grant, says there are four computer labs in three buildings they can use to properly social distance.

"i think because you're looking at the four labs and probably 3 or 4 students, a lot morethan 6 feet a part and with all of our protocols in place.

We feel like we will be safe bringing those students back."

Grant says protocols include sanitizer, temperature checks, and nightly cleanings.

She says students need to start integrating back to the classroom.

"we try out all these protocols we do some lessons learned so we're ready to bring more students back on campus in july and start school in august."

In bibb county, the district is planning virtual summer school classes.

For elementary and middle school students, teachers normally use milestone test
