Alicia says: progress for the fourth coronavirus relief package has been slow and divided along party lines with disagreements leading to a stand still.

Merkley says: "what we need is a lot of urgency to get that next package for corona relief done the administration has said it's on pause absolutely the wrong attitude" democrats and republicans have been disagreeing over whether or not to send additional funding to state and local governments hit hard by the economic fallout from the pandemic.

There's been a multitude of proposals for the package, including another round of stimulus checks and more money to increase the nations testing and contact tracing.

Mcconnell says: "we're discussing how congress could do everything from further strengthening the health response to ensuring that our second epidemic and frivolous lawsuits does not redirect the national recovery into a trial lawyer bonanza."

Merkley says: "and we need to take on other key pieces like ironing out some of the wrinkles of the ppp program we've made some improvements on the last round we have more improvements to come" but at this time that's all there is ... proposals -- nothing has been agreed upon alicia says: "according to reports by abc news, house speaker, nancy pelosi is expected to soon unveil a new relief package 'soon' but there is not a difnitive timeline on when that wil be.
