Made a trip to menards lately?

You've likely noticed the company is taking a strong stance on keeping you safe.

But as ???t news three's?

Most customers are not happy with the decision.xxx katie?

Most stores that you can currently go to have some type of social distancing guidelines in place whether it's markings on the floor?

Or on?way aisles.

As you'll see in this viral video... menards is among them taking it to a new level.xxx <you're telling me that i have to buy a mask under no circumstances.

When the customer was asked to either purchase a facemask... or to leave the store.

Existing social distancing guidelines... but stepped it up a notch by saying all customers and employees must wear a mask or facial covering.

I reached out to the corporate offices today.

They declined to comment on camera... but quickly sent me a statement which says they encourage people to wear their own mask but they do have a limited number available for purchase noting they're trying to keep the store a safe place for all.

Says he visits the store multiple times a week... and was surprised when he was told he had to wear a facial covering.

There was a guard there and i came in and they stopped me and i said "oh i'm in here all the time" and they said "oh no, this just went into place today, you need to have a mask.

With his sense of humor in tact?

He complied.

I went out to my vehicle and i put a tshirt around my face and i came back in the store kind of just to make a point i guess, i don't know.

Have said some of the guards enforcing the new policy have been armed.

During my trip to the store this morning?

The guard at the rochester north location was not.

The company says it has contracted a security company to help with the enforcement?

But?

Says guards are in short supply... and that when the company runs out of unarmed guards?

They will sometimes send one packing some heat.

Customers i spoke to tell me they feel this is highly unneccessary because other stores are not following suit.

I don't know, i think we should be safe but i also don't necessarily think we should be forced or be babysat into you know wearing katie?

When i was at the north menards this morning without a mask... i was told that i needed one... if not i could by one of their one dollar masks... which by the way... is eligible for an 11 percent rebate./// thank you kaleb.

Menards also says while unarmed guards are not necessary... it is comforting to know that the temporary guards are highly trained in case
