Temperature soars after massive sandstorm engulfs northern India's Rajasthan

A massive sandstorm lashed several parts in northern India's Rajasthan.

The incident took place in Jodhpur district on May 17.

The massive whirlwind with dust suspended in the atmosphere reduced visibility in Balesar in Jodhpur district.

Reportedly the storm also disrupted traffic in several parts of the city.

Visuals captured in Balesar showed a thick cloud of dust hovering around the area before breaking.

The dust storm accompanied by heat waves changed the weather conditions and led to a sudden hike in the temperature.

According to the Jaipur State Meteorological Center, between May 19 and May 22, the temperature will increase due to the warm winds, which is likely to be recorded up to 45 degrees Celsius.

However, no casualties have been reported after the incident.
