Let's just let it be with us.

We are continuing our conversation with ringel city councilman, author, actor, entertainer, civic leader randall franks is read what i was talking about music for we will for the show and and a little during the commercial break, so randall w bacchus, you have a fiddle with you.

I do my own standby.

I have a fiddle that was autographed b the one and only charlie daniels.

This is a commemorativ fiddle when the devil went down to georgia number of years and you have a personal connection not just with charlie but with that saul tell me about well.

I was blessed many years ago when course and country music.

We often do concerts together but i remember doing a show at wichit kansas where most people know charlie as a fiddle there, but he started out as a guitar player, and i was blessed to have charlie guitar for me so i could fill for the audience and join in with all of the other stars performing on that concert.

We had a lot of fun and close it.

The song, the devil went down to georgia.

I was blessed write the prequel to that song.

It's called downhole lack fiddle and you got one of those in your hand to know lack fiddle so i do what is the premise of the old black fiddle delicious.

The 30 second synopsis will essentially it it tells us the story of the fiddl johnny played and really lets u know why johnny b day and so it's a it's a wonderful song an it's got a little history related to the course and you people don't realize or they they could do the song in the story is a georgia-based story obviously comes the devil went down georgia but it it tends to lend to the old-time fiddle players used to fiddle in the contest here in georgia because that's what georgia was known for sure and you been to numerous little contest helpless.

Countless concerts of what you think the appeal of the fiddle is discussed for strings it's not addictively big, but it hands like yours it can elicit incredible emotions and incredible incredible views.

What is the appeal of the fiddle ... i think for generations.

The fiddler and the federal were the ones who set the tone for the day and how the rhythm of life when it was decided by the fiddle player things to change little bit and now we shortly and more to the vocalist.

I think that's what it is.

It's the heart inside the fiddle and the talents of the part of the person that the fiddle is put in their hands to allow them to touch people's hearts internally with the heart inside the fit.

When you first picked up your first fiddle did you know that that was going to be one of the instruments that you would make a passion with any living with ... and the cat scratching the came out in those early days, i see that is the way it was but the first time i heard one close-up for my great uncle tom was a fiddle player at a family reunion that bad, along with the subsequent to the players.

I go to know is what thrilled me, and what brought me to and when you see three or four fiddle players doing alternate parts on the same song eventually go by what were the editing goal knowledge or not.

I wish i coul play the fiddle.

But this is not one of the one of my strong suits.

Anyone weeks and zero dystonia can do it these days are trying well at least you got a nice one to learn on so that i sincerely do a big seller.

Tell me about your fiddle versus fiddle been with you over the course of your ... this is a mahdi copy it's from the late 18 hundreds in a it's been everywhere.

I have two or three that i carry but this is the one which for me has the best sound on stage and it's traveled all across the united states and canada and in the course and on most of my recordings of the last 25 to 30 years.

It said bill monroe work we would build roe jim and jesse mac wiseman restoril in so many of the other under for wonderful entertainers as well as i curated the grand master fiddler championship as i've been celebrity host up there an performed as a guest entertaine for the gram of opry for year while incredible incredible career that's just with the fiddle course randall has another another good number of instruments in his skill set focus on the fiddle, the day, talk in the planus a little salt.

I thought you never asked to have so let's do all pick up my fiddle at all.

Your plan not of wanting to will want them.

Lieutenant all right, that's very kind of you here this is one everybody my] is if you'd .

There ... only a little bit about the song one selected a will that's actually one of the early fiddl tunes that i learn coming up in georgia old-time fiddle bands like to give tenderness to an old joe clark that was the name of that sooner it is the name that tune that was one of those early tunes that i learned from those settlers when i was growing up.

My folks had relocated from appalachia down into the atlanta area and we ha little more.

We would go and play on saturday nights in suwanee, georgia and i used to sit at the feet of gordon tanner who was the son of gib tanner.

He was hurting years old, was an early fiddle player with the skillet liquors and i heard him playing tunes like that into slight down yonder and so many others, as well as the others like chubby why i said tater trait and all who had an influence only and gave me a few links here and there and course the great kenny baker who was with one row and the so many times i pull that record player needle back learn to lick off of a recording that he did so one familiar stuff with melissa left alone ask you this, we can say this for next visit.

You being an entertainer ... how were the on on unseen are on thought of ways that this coronavirus has hit those of you in the professional entertainment business ... well i think one of the key way this is change the dynamic of what our future as a is entertainers is the obviously many entertainers reaching out.

While the computer now to their fan base, but so we saw the cancellation of tumors.

The cancellation of festivals and town festivals down days so there are a lot of entered entertainers who are hurting because coronavirus financially, that they also got to figure ou will how to keep their careers alive and keep connecting with those that care about what they do and that is a very very tough balance randall franks like you my friend.

We will see you here in the next court to have come back and join us as the guest host.
