Showers and Isolated Storms Possible

The remnants of Bertha areover southern West Virginiaearly this morning and movingrapidly north.

The slugheaviest rain missed the CWA,though scattered to numeroushowers in its feeder bandwill continue to rotatnorthward across the areathrough mid morning.

Eventhough the showers may producemoderate rain rates in thetropical airmass, their briefnature should preclude a floodthreat.

Otherwise, light fogand perhaps a little drizzlewill be possible.

The remnantsof Bertha will continue totrack toward the Great Lakeswhile dissipating Thursday. However, a longwave uppe━level trough will remaincentered over the centralCONUS while high pressurpersists over the Atlantic.

Adeep southerly flow willcontinue to usher tropicamoisture into the area.

Thedeepest moisture will be linedup near the ━95 corridor bythis afternoon.

There shouldbe at least some breaks in theclouds, which will help someinstability to build.

Thusexpect some showers and stormsto redevelop in this corridor, though they may be weaker withnorthward extent (i.e.,Baltimore) due to more cloudsand a stabilizing marineinfluence.

Further west, ami━level dry slot andsubsidence may cause aconvection to be more isolatedto widely scattered.
