Armed forces of Tupelo adding safety precautions to the recruiting process

I'm here... the recruting process is a little different now because of coronavirus concerns.

However the armed forces recruiters here in tupelo say if you're interested you can still serve your country... would avoid ."

"we use to do a lot of face to face and we can't right now."

Commander of the us army tupelo recruiting company, joshua mcfarland, says to prevent the spread of coronavirus the recruiters added new safety precautions to the process... "now its more from the virtual prospecting so the social media side, we get people to call in."

In addition to facebook and the go army website, recruiters now rely more on getting the word out through campaign videos to show what the army has to offer... ((nats)) "we invite you to be brave with us."

Applicants only come into the office once they send in their information.

Before entering the recruiting building, ???

Screens all applicantscoronavirus... "to come in the office they get screened for covid-19."

Everyone inside the office has to wear protective gear during the recruiting process... ((nats)) "so what brings you in?

I was looking for something to better my life."

And captian mcfarland says if a prospect does not feel comfortable coming to the building, recruiters can set up a meeting in a more neutral place... "regardless of what's going on we are getting paid to do a job and it continues on regardless of the pandemic."

((nats)) "the ones who endure what most would avoid."

Captain mcfarland says he has not seen a decrease in applicants.

He is hoping to see more people interested in joining the armed forces.
