Standoff in Chico ends with one arrest

Chico Police closed off two streets while a standoff ensued lasting through the evening.

Out of chico -- an hours long standoff has just ended moments ago at "la leita court", off of east 12th street.

Reporter brandon benitez has been there since the beginning and is here to tell us the latest.

Alan, i'm just outside the house where this standoff took place located at the end of a cul de sac off 12th street and la leita court here in chico... chico p-d blocked off the entrance into this cul de sac and cypress street which runs on the other side of these houses... police still have yet to comment and provide details of what transpired... multiple resources were called to the scene... there was a high police presence all evening long... one man was taken away in cuffs roughly an hour and a half hour ago... i overheard on the megaphone earlier today police called him michael... we're working on getting more details here at the scene... live in chico brandon benitez action news now coverage you can count on... i am going to stay out here and will check back in on action news now at 11.
