multi county chase

In our top story at 11...a driver now charged with d-u-i in scott county..

After reportedly hitting a car, and leaving the scene...in fayette county.

The crash this afternoon.... led to a multi-county chase according to police.

And as a-b-c 36's bobbi mcswine reports...one bystander says, he had to get involved.

##### yourself, you're endangeringle'n police officers say they were called for a hit-and-run on winchester road around 4 p-m wednesday.

Matthew albrechet all-brick says he was there and felt the need to take action.

"so i decided to follow him because i didn't see police anywhere and i didn't want him to get away."

Police say they tried to pull over the driver...kirr curr marlow of ohio...who they say was driving erratically..

Officers say he didn't stop...instead leading them on a chase down i-75.

Highway noise lexington police say they stopped once the marlow crossed into scott county.

They say the chase ended around mile marker 113...where scott county deputies took him into custody.

Albrechet all-brick says the incident hit close to home...and he wanted to save someone else from going through what he has.

"i had a family member who was t-boned because someone ran a red light.

I've lost friends to drunk drivers, so my first instinct was get him off the road and protect everyone else."
