The umpqua strong run in roseburg was canceled last year& but it making a big come back next month.

Kezi 9 news reporter evita garza shows us how some local businesses helping the organization prepare for the event return.

The staff at oregon seri graphics tell me theye already hard at work on one of their biggest projects of the year& the umpqua strong run.

Theye been making the t-shirts for the event since it started in 2016& as a way to honor the nine victims lost in the umpqua community college shooting the year before.

Owner stephanie lafleur tells me the shooting is something shel never forget& and says supporting this event represents that.

Committee member lynn mcallister says it was canceled last year& due to a lack of volunteers.

But they were determined to bring it back& even during a pandemic.

Mcallister says the run will look a lot different this year.

To comply with social distancing& participants will be split up into smaller groups.

And, there will also be a virtual option.

1:02 evita:?since registration just opened today, mcallister says she doesn know how many people to expect to sign up.

But regardless of the numbers they get, lafleur says oregon serigraphics is ready for anything??it could be 50 shirts or 500, that a piece we don know.

But i think that what wee good at, the pivoting?

The event is planned for september 26 at setwart park.

As part of their tradition& mcallister says all the money raised will go toward local non-profits and scholarships& in the victims& names.?we don wanna forget what happened, we want to remember those people we lost?
