The rochester chamber of commerce is stepping in to help parents out.

School is now in session for many districts and the new model of learning is putting added strain on parents.

Some rochester businesses are stepping in to provide daycare and after school options for parents rochester chamber president kathleen harrington says students can get help with their homework and more.

"it is quite amazing what these organizations have done to pivot to create new safe opportunities for school aged children to have innovative academics and after school activities that are very safe.

Parents have seven options daycare options to choose from in among the options: camp victory, sylvan learning and the rochester ymca.

The city has decided to shutter silver lake pool.

"*he says the pool is outdated and the city cant afford the upkeep.

He says now the department will focus on upgrading soliders field pool.

Boldt maintains the decision to close silver lake pool was made many years ago.

"we haven't been able to secure the funding to do those upgrades at soliders field yet so thats why over the years we have ketp both pools open."

Boldt says the city needs to raise at least three million dollars to upgrade the soliders field pool.
