Clash erupts between police, locals over Rato Machindranath Jatra despite prohibitory orders in Nepal

Locals clashed with police over pulling the chariot of Machindranath despite prohibitory orders in Kathmandu's Lalitpur on September 03.

Youth pulled chariot of Machindranath to few meters down from place where Lord Machindranath was accessioned on 25th July.

Police tried to control mob asking them not to proceed ahead despite the prohibition ordered by the local authorities which ultimately led to use of force.

Police used water cannon and fired shells of teargas to disperse the crowd.

Locals also pelted stones at police in retaliation.
