For the third year in a row... down south we had the battle between terre haute and bloomington on the gridiron.... sports 10's dominic miranda made the road trip and joins us now to recap the two games.... the autumn air was crisp in bloomington tonight.
That's where we find terre haute north.
The patriot's two and ohh start has them ranked 12th in the latest 5a coaches poll... north was also looking to clear a big hurdle tonight and beat bloomington south for the first time since 2013.... the patriots visited the panthers in a conference indiana showdown.... the first of the season!
Opening kickoff brought some fireworks.
North kicks off...it bounces off a bloomington south player...and griffen klingerman hops on it.
Big momentum for the patriots after the first play.
Unfortunately...they couldn't capitalize.

Terre haute north narrowly drops this one by a final of 17 to 10 to bloomington south.
It was a defensive battle...and north was only trailing by 3 points most of the game.
Listen to this though...they had back to back drives late in the 4th of 15 and 13 plays respectively and just could not punch it in from the redzone.
Tough first loss on the year for them as they drop to 2 and 1 overall
