A church is doing what it can to bring a little comfort back in the community's lives.
Newswatch 12's samantha didion joins us now live.
Samantha can you tell us what that church is doing to brighten everyone's day?
I'm on the scene of a neighborhood that got completely destroyed from the almeda fire.
St.
John lutheran church in eagle point got in contact with lutheran church charities to do something for the people affected by the fires.
Just a few days later three comfort dogs were flown into southern oregon.
The l-c-c k-9 ministries arrived on monday and plan on being here until thursday.
They started their day off at the jackson county expo and will work their way south near ashland, making sure everyone gets a cuddle.
Richard martin: "it's tough to see people in such a state.
Its great to be with them here with presents and prayer and the response has been very overwhelming.
Martin said that these therapy dogs aren't only here for those who lost their homes-- but for the first responders as well.
Cubby, ruthie, and isaac are only three of 130 dogs across the u-s that visit disasters to give cuddles and comfort.
These dogs even have a toy version for people to take with them
