Ad libbing -scene still very active -several agencies are still out here in hazmat suits working to clean the leak up the substance that came out of the 18-wheeler which is is dime-thigh-la-mean ann-hi- drous -still not sure right now how much is left to clean up - how much longer it will take - we do know some people did have to evacuate their homes because of the leak multiple agencies responded to the scene at the marathon gas station around 8 p-m and worked overnight to contain the leak.

Decatur fire and rescue told us a valve on the truck broke...which caused the hazardous substance to spill over.

As wind picked up the substance did come near homes and agencies did have to evacuate some people and divert traffic.

Decatur fire division chief tracy thorton said the di-phi- la-mean an-hi-drous chemical that spilled is very dangerous and even though it's contained now....extra precautions are still being taken to make sure all of it is safely cleaned up division chief tracy thorton, decatur fire and rescue "they also got an environmental group coming out to do any type of clean up in the transfer of the damage container into the container coming up from birmingham."

The companies replacement truck is on the road now from birminghamand is expected to get here in the next hour and will clean up any remaining liquid that is still out here.
