Roseburg youth homeless shelter shuts down
Roseburg youth homeless shelter shuts down
Need right now.
But its not all good news.
Roseburg*only homeless youth shelter -- has shut their doors for*good.
Board members made the decision over the weekend citing financial hardships.
They told us they're looking to sell their property on north east grand view avenue.
But -- the building is still being leased to umpqua community college& and the casa bike shop.
The bike shop is a outreach group -- they partnered with years ago--- and is focused on teaching youth*trade skills.
There a little bit of anxiety like ok if the building sells and the people don allow us to stay, we don know where we would go.
Where we could be a bike shop, plus a drop in center, and serve the community mobile youth?
> even though 'casa deh belen is gone'&bike shop staff say they'll help the youth in any way they can & including providing showers, clothes and food.
