One dead after crash on highway 126 Saturday morning

One man is dead tonight after a crash on highway 1-26 near goble lane.

Oregon state police got a report of a single vehicle crash around 6:35 this morning.

They say a honda motorcycle -- driven by 34 year old nickolas white of eugene -- had crashed sometime earlier.

We spoke with a man who was in the area when police arrived.

He says he saw several crews -- shining lights down onto a field nearby and it seemed like they were looking for someone.

"you really just never know if it's something serious or not.

You assume it is when you see people searching a field.

You hope someone didn't have a tragic outcome which unfortunately was the case."

White sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.

He had been reported to the lane county sheriff's office as a missing person.
