Nation remembered Guru Nanak Dev on his 551st birth anniversary on November 30. Devotees offered prayers at Golden Temple in Amritsar following Covid-19 protocols. People along with their families lit candles and offered prayers in the temple premises. On the occasion, devotees also visited Delhi's Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib to offer prayers. Earlier, PM Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind paid tributes to Nanak - the founder of Sikhism. President Kovind also inaugurated the renovated PBG Regimental Gurudwara at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi extended greetings to people on Guru Nanak Jayanti. Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated with fervour throughout nation and around the world. Also known as Gurpurab, Nanak Jayanti celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru. It is observed on the full moon day of Kartik month as per the Hindu calendar.

As many as 51,000 earthen lamps were lit in Ayodhya marking the eve of Kartik Purnima. The lamps were illuminated at Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of River Saryu. Sabarimala Temple in Kerala was decorated as Karthika Deepam celebrations were held. The eve of Dev Deepawali was celebrated in various ways across the nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Monday. PM will dedicate to the nation the widened Handia-Rajatalab section of NH-19. The city glowed on the eve as a laser show was held in Varanasi at Chet Singh Ghat. The Prime Minister will also attend Dev Deepawali in Varanasi, later in the day. Kartik Purnima is also celebrated as Dev Deepawali in various parts of the country. Kartik Purnima marks the fifteenth lunar day of the Hindu month of Kartik.

Faridabad Police has filed a 600-page charge sheet at a district court in the city in connection with the Ballabgarh murder case in record 11 days. The Ballabgarh case refers to the murder of 21-year-old Nikita Tomar, who was shot dead by a man on October 25. "Faridabad Police has filed the charge sheet in the Nikita Tomar murder case in record 11 days. The 600-page charge sheet has around 60 witnesses. Faridabad Police has conducted the investigation on scientific grounds in which forensic and digital evidences were collected," said Adarshdeep Singh, ACP, Faridabad.
Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta said incidents of ‘love jihad’ have compelled to make laws against it. The speaker was referring to the recent killing of a 21-year-old woman in Ballabhgarh. Gupta said, “small and innocent girls are exploited and converted in the name of marriage.” The Father of the victim said his ‘daughter would have been alive if there were laws against love jihad’. A 21-year-old girl was killed in Ballabhgarh recently where the victim was shot dead outside her college. Earlier, Haryana Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made similar remarks over making laws against love jihad. The chief minister said there were suggestions of a love jihad angle in the Ballabhgarh case. Home Minister of Haryana, Anil Vij on November 02 stated that the state government will make a law against 'Love-Jihad' after discussion with the coalition partners and other states like Uttar Pradesh. He said, "In the Ballabhgarh incident, the girl's parents have alleged that their daughter ran into an instance of 'Love-Jihad'. Other cases like this have intermittently surfaced too. I have also instructed the SIT to look into an angle of 'Love-Jihad'." "We are also deliberating on whether to bring in any law in this regard with our coalition partners and other states like UP. We are a democratic country and problems are only solved with laws, not sticks. So we'll make this law having discussed it with all," he added. The statement comes after a 21-year-old woman, was shot in broad daylight outside her college in Faridabad.
Speaking to ANI in Bhubaneswar on November 10, the speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly and MLA from Digapahandi Assembly Constituency, Dr Surjya Narayan Patro spoke about the upcoming session of the state assembly. Patro said, "40-day Odisha assembly session will be conducted from November 20-December 31 following strict COVID-19 norms and everyone involved will be tested three days before the session."
