We have team coverage for you this morning - as more schools districts make the decision to go virtual ahead of the holidays.

Right now - students and teachers in colbert county are getting ready for their last day in the classroom until next year!

The district announced students will move to remote learning until january of 20-21 waay 31's ashley carter joins us live nowwith why the district made this decision.

The colbert county emergency management agency actually announced the decision - and since then not much more has been released.

But here's what we do know about the situation there.

Among the districts in colbert county - some individual schools have had to move to remote learning before because of teachers in quarantine.

According to the state coronavirus dashboard - there are seven active cases of the coronavirus district-wide.

The dashboard doesn't specify if those numbers are among teachers or students.

Last month - colbert county high school students had to switch to remote learning for two weeks because several teachers were in quarantine.

The district said it was because they didn't have enough substitute teachers to cover the teachers classes.

We aren't sure if this is the case this time, but we do know every school in the district will transition to remote learning until after christmas break.

Students will still attend school as regularly scheduled today.

Starting monday they'll begin remote learning for the rest of the semester.
