The order requires the use of masks in public for more than half of the state's counties.

It also places limitations on sporting events.

Are just one hour away from the governor's new executive order taking effect, and it'll probably be most notable at high school basketball games set for tonight.

That's because the order by governor tate reeves limits just how many people can watch a game or any extracurricular activity indoors at an elementary school, a middle school or a high school until january 15th.

Here's the breakdown -- you can't have more than four spectators for each student playing or you can't have more than 250 ticketed spectators at the event.

And the school must go with the lower amount between the two.

We also can't forget the county-by-county mask mandate.

And it pretty much applies to every county locally except bention county.

That order requires people to wear a mask when indoors and when interacting with the public.

In alabama, all counties are under governor kay ivey's mask mandate until late next month.
