Get Fit Friday 12/18/20 - Last-Minute Holiday Fitness Gifts

Today, Whitney Brown and Beth Jeffers from the Fitness Factor help those procrastinators find the perfect fitness gift for the holidays.

Whitney brown: good morning and welcome to get fit friday.

I'm whitney brown, here with beth jeffers.

Beth jeffers: good morning.

Whitney brown: and we're at the fitness factor today talking about those last- minute holiday fitness gifts for the fitness lover, or yourself on your list, right?

Beth jeffers: that's right.

Whitney brown: we got lots of options for you today.

Go ahead and start us off.

Beth jeffers: we do.

We have them in a lot of price ranges too.

Whitney brown: yeah, sure.

Beth jeffers: one is an all-time, all-time, winner and a pretty cheap one too.

A jump rope is a great gift for someone running about $9 to $10 max.

Whitney brown: yep.

And that's awesome, yeah.

Beth jeffers: yes.

And another one would be, if you wanted to get somebody to set a dumbbells.

Normally, these are nicely coated.

See how nice they are?

They're a little bit more expensive than the other ones, but dumbbells are a great gift too.

Whitney brown: yeah, they are.

Beth jeffers: what do you think?

Whitney brown: i am very partial to a kettlebell.

I've got a couple of these at my house and i love them as a gift.

So a kettlebell, but it's not exactly cheap.

I would say it's a more of a mid- range.

Beth jeffers: no.

You have to really love that person.

Whitney brown: it's more of a mid- range item, right?

Beth jeffers: that is.

That is.

Whitney brown: how much do those costs?

You know that.

Beth jeffers: i think a 10-pound one is going to cost about $20.

Whitney brown: so they're relatively middle range if you're, like you said, if you really love that person, get them a kettlebell, but i would recommend that.

A myzone belt or a heart rate monitor.

So not necessarily this brand per se, but this is what we use at the fitness factor for heart rate monitoring and it is a game changer for your workouts.

If you know somebody that's really trying to level up or really trying to track, they love data, this is what you need to go with.

This is a great gift, as well as some kind of smartwatch or fitness tracker.

This is actually a watch that they can wear and syncs up to their belt, but there's lots of different options on the market today.

Beth jeffers: and those are probably going to be between 65 and $100 for sure.

Whitney brown: yeah, it's a little bit more expensive for things like that with technology.

Beth jeffers: sure.

I'm going back to the bargain stuff here.

Whitney brown: she's a bargain hunter.

Beth jeffers: this is a great strength thing.

Whitney brown: yeah.

Beth jeffers: and these are all things you can travel with.

Whitney brown: sure.

Beth jeffers: you don't need much room in your home for, and this is going to be about 13, $15.

And it all depends on the strength of it- whitney brown: right.

Beth jeffers: ... and it's the thickness of it.

Whitney brown: right.

So, that's a tube.

And then of course, good old peril is a great gift.

Someone that loves to run or loves to exercise, or i don't know if they're like me, i just wear this stuff constantly as my regular everyday wardrobe- beth jeffers: definitely.

Whitney brown: ... but that's a good thing or a gift certificate.

One of the great things about fitness, and membership, and training is that you can gift someone a gift certificate.

And we know that health is really important right now through all the things- beth jeffers: it is.

Whitney brown: ... we've been through in 2020.

So taking care of yourself and helping someone take care of their health is a great investment and a really great gift to give.

Beth jeffers: so think about fitness this year when you're getting gifts.

Whitney brown: that's right.

Beth jeffers: and how do you like our new fitness- whitney brown: he's got a mask on.

Beth jeffers: we have a christmas shirt every year, and this is going to be a year to remember.

Whitney brown: that's right.

It's my favorite.

Beth jeffers: but you know, we're looking forward to 2021.

And like whitney said, it's time to get our health in order for sure.

It's not about looking great.

I mean, looking great's good, but the health is the most important thing.

Whitney brown: that's right.

Beth jeffers: so, get a gift of fitness this year.

Whitney brown: we'll see you next time on get fit friday.
