Kimt news 3's alex jirgens was at today's stockings for seniors event in mason city and joins us live.

"* it really has been a tough year.

And with visitor restrictions still in place ?

*- it's difficult to see family members face to face.

But the team at century 21 worked to brighten spirits.

Cassidy harris and the team at century 21 collected about 900 dollars in monetary and gift donations ?

"* ranging from shampoos to puzzles and games ?

"* notepad*- socks and throw blankets.

Harris is a former nursing home staffer and knows just how tough this year has been for "the staff has been through the ringer right now.

Working in health care right now is hard.

We made sure all the staff had donations too, and it breaks my heart to see what they're going through so we were like, anyway we can put a smile on their face, we'll do it."

Harris tells me that she got the idea from a friend who was donating to a care center in nora springs.

That prompted harris to get in touch with management here to get this rolling.
