Shortly after the ceremony in frankfort...secret ary adams held a press conference with lexington mayor linda gorton...annoucing a new security measure aimed at protecting the voter registration system.

The new measure would require two factor authentication when logging into the voter registration system.

Adams says it's not that there's been a threat...but it's best to play it safe.

"obviously, we've done a lot over the past 15 months to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat, but cybersecurity is an issue you never take your eye off the ball on."

A federal grant paid for the new measure.

You'll see it in all 120 counties in the state.

Fayette county is just the first county the state reached out to.
