A tornado warning was issued in Lubbock, Texas, as a swirling supercell passed over the city on ay 17.
The filmer told Newsflare: "I could tell that this supercell was different when I was out walking my dogs and when I got home I got a chair and stood on it in my back yard and started filming.
"I had to stop filming because the rotation was coming straight for me and was a very scary and dangerous situation so I had to get my dogs and I into a safe place and thankfully it passed over us without touching down or causing any damage."
