Bengaluru reports first dengue deaths in 3 years; BBMP officials conduct surveillance |Oneindia News

In Bengaluru, seven deaths have been reported in the city in the last three months among patients hospitalised with symptoms of dengue.

Three of those deaths were said to have been caused directly by the virus.

Officials said that these were the first confirmed dengue-related deaths in Bengaluru in three years.

Dengue cases in the city have seen an alarming rise over the last month.

According to officials from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), so far this year, 5,000 positive cases have been reported in the city.
