During out of body experiences, consciousness [self awareness] transfers to one's immortal soul.
The body, with its mortal soul, is separated from the immortal soul.
But a link between the immortal and mortal soul remains.
And the body "ticks-over" under its autonomic systems. The immortal soul is then free to roam.
For everything we perceive physically with our 5 senses, a "software" or spiritual set of functions exists.
And this is where we are and where we go.
Some people have even been to the stars ... and managed to get back again.
