On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded its worst decline since the Black Monday crash of 1987. Of the 29 area public companies tracked by the Kansas City Business Journal, 26 of them ended Thursday in the red, and more than half of the 29 saw their share prices crater more than the Dow, which fell 7.2%.
