States protest linking of additional borrowing limit to four reforms

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while announcing the fifth tranche of the Atmanirbhar Bharat package, had increased the states borrowing limit from 3% of GSDP to 5% but linked them to four reforms such as implementation of ‘one nation, one ration card’ system, ease of doing business reform, urban local body/utility reform, and power sector reforms.
