Naturally Splendid Enterprises ships second container of hemp seed to South Korea

Naturally Splendid Enterprises Ltd (CVE:NSP) (OTCMKTS:NSPDF) announced Tuesday that its hemp seed is on its way to South Korea. The Vancouver-based company said it had processed an order for a 40-foot container of hulled hemp seed from South Korea, the second shipment of nearly 20 tonnes of hemp seed since March 2020. Naturally Splendid said it continues to receive “increased interest” from Southeast Asia for its safe and healthy food. "Naturally Splendid first exported containers of hemp seed to this region in 2016 and we are pleased to see these activities gaining traction once again,” CEO Craig Goodwin said in a statement. COVID-19 treatment update Goodwin also updated investors on the firm’s joint venture with Biologic Pharmamedical Research to pursue clinical studies using one of Biologic's patented technologies as a candidate for a potential coronavirus therapy. The proposed treatment, taken in capsule form, would greatly reduce or eliminate the need for virus infected patients to congregate in hospitals or clinics for infusions or other complex treatments. The company recently submitted a Clinical Trial Application (CTA) to Health Canada for a Phase 2 clinical trial for a potential COVID-19 treatment. “It is important to understand that while we pursue this opportunity for a potential COVID-19 treatment, existing divisions within Naturally Splendid continue to operate, including our Safe Quality Food Certified food manufacturing facility producing a variety of mostly plant-based based and bites for our company brands, as well as for our contract manufacturing clients,” Goodwin added. Naturally Splendid operates a SQF Level 2 certified food manufacturing facility just outside Vancouver, and churns out brands, via its Prosnack subsidiary, like Natera Sport, Natera Hemp Foods, and the Woods Wild bar.
